FAQ

Why does the result differ slightly from my payslip?

This tool uses an annual progressive-bracket approximation instead of the official Simplified Withholding Tax Table. Monthly differences are within ₩tens of thousands; the year-end tax settlement reconciles the gap, so 12-month totals match closely.

Which year are the rates from?

2026 rates — National Pension 4.5%, Health Insurance 3.545%, Long-term Care 12.95% of Health Insurance, Employment Insurance 0.9% (employee share). Employer pays a separate share.

What goes in "non-taxable monthly amount"?

Income tax–exempt items per Korean Income Tax Act: meal allowance (up to ₩200,000/mo), commuting allowance (₩200,000), childcare/birth allowance, etc. Most employees default to ₩200,000 (meal).

Difference between dependents and children?

Dependents (including yourself) drive the personal exemption (₩1,500,000/year per person). Children aged 8–20 also qualify for the additional Child Tax Credit (₩250,000/year for 1st & 2nd, ₩350,000 from 3rd).

Is anything sent to a server?

No. All tax/insurance calculations run in your browser; salary and family data never leave the page.
