How to Use
When the page loads, today's lunar date and this year's zodiac & stem-branch appear at the top.
Enter a date in the 'Solar → Lunar' or 'Lunar → Solar' tab to convert instantly. The lunar form has a leap-month toggle for cases like leap-4th-month dates.
In the 'Lunar birthday outlook' tab, enter a lunar month and day to see the next 10 years of Gregorian dates with weekdays — handy for setting calendar reminders in advance.
FAQ
How are leap months represented?
For example, 'leap 4th month, 15th day' is entered by ticking the 'Leap month' checkbox and putting in 4 / 15. Solar→lunar results mark leap months automatically.
Is the zodiac based on solar or lunar new year?
In the Korean/Chinese tradition the zodiac changes on lunar New Year (1st of the 1st lunar month). People born in solar Jan–Feb may belong to the previous year's zodiac. This tool follows the lunar-year rule.
What is the stem-branch (Gapja) notation?
A 60-year cycle combining 10 heavenly stems and 12 earthly branches. e.g., 2024 is 'Gapjin (甲辰)', the year of the (Wood) Dragon. The same combination repeats every 60 years (basis for the 회갑 60th-birthday celebration).
Should ancestral rites (jesa) follow the lunar calendar?
Korean jesa is traditionally observed on the deceased's lunar death anniversary. Enter that lunar date into the 'Lunar → Solar' tab to see when it falls this year.
Is anything sent to a server?
No. Conversion runs entirely in your browser using a built-in 1900–2099 data table; no dates leave the page.
