What is the difference between international and Korean age?
International age starts at 0 at birth and increments on each birthday — the global standard, and the Korean legal default since June 2023. Korean traditional age (sesenara) starts at 1 at birth and increments every January 1st.
What is "year-age"?
Year-age is simply "current year − birth year". A few Korean laws (military service, youth protection) still reference it. It can differ from international age by 1 year.
What was the 2023 Korean age unification law?
From 28 June 2023, civil and administrative records in Korea default to international age unless otherwise specified. The "International age" output here is the official one.
How is D-day calculated?
Days from the reference date to the next birthday. On the birthday itself it shows D-day.
Is anything sent to a server?
No. All calculations happen in your browser — your date of birth never leaves the page.
